Buying

How do I contact a seller?
Open any listing and tap "WhatsApp seller" or "Chat in-app". WhatsApp opens a direct conversation on your phone; in-app chat keeps the conversation inside Odito. Both are free.
Is it safe to buy on Odito?
Odito is an intermediary — we don't hold escrow or process payments. Always meet in person in a public place, inspect the item, and pay only after you have it. Verified sellers (Aadhaar-checked) are flagged with a badge. Never share OTPs or send advance payments.
Can I bargain?
If the listing is marked "Negotiable", absolutely. Reach out to the seller via chat or WhatsApp.
How do I save listings for later?
Tap the heart icon on any listing detail page. You'll need to be signed in. Saved listings live at Profile → Saved.

Selling

How do I post an ad?
Sign in with email-OTP, then tap "Post Ad" in the header or bottom nav. The wizard walks you through category → details → location → photos → review. Most ads go up in under a minute.
How long does review take?
Admin review usually completes within a few hours during business hours. You'll get an email when your ad goes live, and another email if it needs changes.
Why was my ad rejected?
The most common reasons: contact details in the title or description, suspiciously low prices, missing or stock photos, duplicate listings, or items we don't allow (see Trust & Safety). Edit and resubmit from your dashboard.
Is posting free?
Yes — Odito is free for everyone today. No featured-listing fees, no premium plans, no commission. See Terms §8 for the long version.
How long does an ad stay live?
Each ad runs for an active window after approval. You can renew it from your dashboard once it expires.
How do I mark an ad as sold?
Open My Ads, find the listing, and tap "Mark sold". The buyer can then rate you from their chat thread with you.

Trust & verification

What is the Verified Badge?
A free badge granted after Aadhaar OTP verification. Buyers trust verified sellers more — expect more replies. Verify from Profile → Get Verified Badge.
Is my Aadhaar number safe?
Yes. The number is encrypted at rest and used only to send an OTP to the phone linked to your Aadhaar. We don't store images of your Aadhaar card and we never share the number externally.
How do ratings work?
After a sold transaction, the buyer can rate the seller 1–5 stars from the chat thread. Ratings show on the seller's public profile and on every listing.
How do I report a suspicious listing?
Open the listing → sidebar → "Report this listing" → pick a reason → submit. Admin reviews every report.

Account & data

How do I delete my account?
Profile → Manage data & privacy → submit an Erasure request. We acknowledge within 24 hours and process within 15 days per IT Rules 2021.
Can I change my email?
Email is your login. To change it, log in with the new email — your account is created automatically on first OTP. Then submit a Correction request to merge the old data if needed.
What data do you collect?
Account info, listings, messages, IP/UA for fraud screening, and your Aadhaar number if you verify. The full picture is on our Privacy Policy page.
